harry
finally gave me one....
THE
INTERVIEW
2002
I've
been promising it for ages - sorry for the delay. Enjoy...
Let's
get the serious questions out of the way first before I start being
silly. Please can I be your PA?
Well
if you want to, but I'm pretty sure that you're far too busy my love!
Never
to busy for you Harry. (or any other
musician, record company or touring agent!!)
Magnum - you went down very well with the fans - how did it go for you?
Fantastic thanks-Great band-great people-Party animals-Much alcohol
consumed! Shows were very enjoyable and I can't wait for the Christmas
shows in December 2003.
Me
neither! Aside from the summer festival dates, has it been a one-off
or are there plans for the future?
After the December 2002 shows I think the Magnum boys might have
something up there sleeves. If so, I'd like to be involved in that.
Did
you miss Bad Influence?
Of course I did- it's so good that we have a great understanding
both personally and musically-when I come back off tour, it's refreshing
to play with the band-yes I do miss them. Love it!
You've
played with a lot of people recently, Paul Young, Graham Bonnet, now
Magnum, do you find it easy to fit right in with the bands?
Yes quite easy-Musically no problem, however there are sometimes
personality clashes that one has to overcome! But nothing major-I seem
to get on with most people.
What
about learning material - do you spend hours listening to old albums?
No-I get sent a CD of the songs to play-I'll normally listen in
the car when I'm out and about. I tend not to try too hard and normally
it all falls into place.
After
the Luke Morley album last year and now Danny and Luke working together,
are you all just keen to pursue your new ventures or is there a pull
towards the old Thunder routine? You know the fans would love it!
No shocking revelations here-Tee hee! Sorry. Keen to pursue as many
new projects as I can-love playing with an assortment of musicians-good
for the heart and soul and it is all still a learning process for me-even
at my age!!!
Any
exciting new future projects you want to exclusively reveal?
Nothing to reveal at the moment-there are a couple of exciting things
in the pipeline but..well.......we'll have to see, nought confirmed
as yet. Been working on a studio project -there's no time frame for
this so not sure when this will surface??
To
date, what has been your favourite gig/tour?
Has to be Donnington 1990 and support to Bon Jovi at Wembley Stadium
1995 with Thunder (Saturday afternoon show)-that was immense for me.
Most
memorable moments of your time as a drum god?
There's too many to mention really but a couple spring to mind...
In the shower with Pamela Anderson during the making of the US version
of "Dirty Love" video, pre-surgery
Meeting Steve Tyler from Aerosmith-tried swallowing my head whilst singing
"I wish I had a watermelon"
Getting stuck in a lift with Jimmy Page-Nice chap!
Donnington shows and Bon Jovi tours were incredible.
Too many great memories to talk about
Who
are you influences?
Obviously Ian Paice, John Bonham and Keith Moon
Are
there any current artists that you listen to?
Nickelback at the moment
Most
embarassing album in your collection?
Songs from the Austrian Tyrol-That's when I put on those Lederhosen!!!
Confession
- I have two Michael Ball Albums. And I like them! Moving on....
A cool thing that not many people know about Harry James is.....
I have no fillings!
Me
neither! What does that tell you?
A bad thing that not many people know about Harry James is....
I smoke too much!
No!
Really?! Okay, really being serious with the questions now: would Al
Barrow be mad for me if he didn't have a girlfriend?
Yep
Do
you have an identical twin brother
who's single and wants my phone number?
Yep
Honestly?!
Not really
Oh.
Do
you wear pants or underpants?
(I've been reliably informed that you will probably answer "both
at the same time", if this is the case please give details)
That's right-I need the support down below! Thongs are OK-pants
are pants and boxers give me the freedom, I so deserve!
THANK
YOU HARRY!!
